Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
Thought we’d give you the best present we could muster from across the globe, and that’s more photos and entries. Now we’re almost caught up to this time last month. Hooray! We’re back to the top of the South Island and are hunkering down for a 85-degree Christmas on the beaches of Nelson. We’re thrilled [...]

November 21: Otago Peninsula
Photos! Leaving the spray-paint fumes behind, the Otago Peninsula stretched away beautifully from Dunedin into the sea. Great landscapes were easily found with short strolls from the road including an Albatross colony and beaches with bull sea lions soaking up rays. Though all the Albatrosses were guarding the eggs (no luck seeing the famed 10-foot [...]

Tuesday, November 20: Dunedin Graffiti
Most of you will find this pointless, but to the few of you who follow this stuff there was a ton of Bansky stencil-style graffiti in Dunedin. I snapped some photos of the city’s alleys for those interested. (The last two photos are from the Speight’s brewery tour.) Dunedin’s graffiti. Dunedin also had this:

Monday November 19: Moeraki Boulders
Photos! Un-hatched Dinosaurs? Alien pods? God’s bowling ball return machine? On a small stretch of beach along the east coast, egg-shaped spheres lay strewn about. They’re a strange phenomenon involving complex geological processes of which I don’t know. All I do know is that they’d go great with a mattress-sized slab of bacon and some [...]

NZ Whiskey Distillery Opening Day
Photos! Last stop in Oamaru was the grand opening of the whiskey distilling plant. Though their first bottle won’t be available until 2015, they had a stock of barrels left over from a NZ distillery that closed a few years back. Here’s the best photo I’ve taken in my life.

November 18: Oamaru RULES!
Photos! We love this town. It shouldn’t have been more than another pit stop onto further sights. But oh the pleasures! First of all, we were introduced to the MIND-BLOWING Banoffee Pie. As big as an alligator, it has a custard crust with a meringue made of banana and toffee topped with whipped cream and [...]

November 17: The Elephant Rocks
Photos They used these limestone outcroppings as Aslan’s camp in the Chronicles of Narnia. Though there are more sheep here than lions, you can still enjoy a Photoshopped image of Angela as a centaur.

Thursday, Nov 16: Mysterious Mt. Cook
Photos! Mt. Cook is the highest mountain in all of Australasia. It towers over the immense southern alps with a steep craggy peak. Maori legend states that it is a god (Aoraki) who’s been turned to stone. This god shrouds himself in a cloak of cloud and only appears when he feels like it. He [...]
